Doha, Qatar – 22 May, 2013: RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) was recently presented the Qatarization Crystal Award in recognition of the Company's progress in Qatarization in 2012; including the training and development of Qatari nationals and support for the education sector in Qatar. The Company maintained its 33% Qatarization rate in 2012 and attracted over 1400 Qatari applicants at the annual Qatar Career Fair.
Throughout 2012, RasGas engaged in numerous initiatives to ensure Qatari employees are presented with career development and training opportunities required to meet the Company's Qatarization targets. They included establishing a national operator role model programme as well as starting a monthly trainee recognition programme to incentivise high-performing nationals. In addition, RasGas fosters an online community for its developees and scholars, both locally and abroad, by capitalizing on the power of social media among younger age groups. From a management perspective, RasGas continued to hold its quarterly company-wide meetings to update Qataris on their performance against Qatarization targets and present and discuss various related issues.

This award is testimony to the effectiveness of our Qatarization strategy and our continuous efforts for attracting and retaining the highest calibre of employees," said RasGas Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Hamad Rashid Al Mohannadi.
"I am particularly proud to be receiving another crystal award on behalf of all of RasGas. Even as the competition gets tougher, this is the company's third win since 2009," he added.
The award was presented to RasGas' CEO, at the 13th Annual Qatarization Review Meeting of the Energy and Industry Sector. The event was hosted by HE the Minister of Energy & Industry and Chairman and Managing Director of Qatar Petroleum, Dr Mohamed bin Saleh Al Sada at the St Regis Hotel, Doha.
