London, UK - 9 October 2012: A record for reliable and safe delivery of liquefied natural gas (LNG); strategic geographic location and a robust global supply chain are all reasons Qatar is optimistic about its LNG outlook, said RasGas Company Limited’s (RasGas) Marketing and Shipping Executive, Khalid Sultan R. Al Kuwari, as Gastech, currently being held in London, the United Kingdom.

Speaking on an executive leadership panel discussion entitled "Have We Entered the Golden Age for Gas?" on the inaugural day of the four-day event, Al Kuwari provided insights into the unprecedented scale of Qatar’s LNG production growth and what lies ahead for Qatar in the next five years.

"In 2010, Qatar reached its national target for producing 77 million tonnes per annum (Mta) of LNG. That achievement is the culmination of several decades of work. As we continue to service markets both East and West, our added years of experience in the market will prove to be our key differentiator," said Al Kuwari.

Speaking on developments in the North Field, the world’s largest non-associated gas field, Al Kuwari pointed out that the field contains enough reserves of gas to keep Qatar at the forefront of the gas industry for another century.

"In the meantime, servicing the needs of our increasingly dynamic customer base through reliable yet flexible deliveries will continue to be the subject of our attention and focus at RasGas," he added.

The Gastech conference and exhibition is held approximately once every 18 months. This is RasGas’ eighth consecutive participation in the industry event for which it is also a sponsor.
