Preserving corporate culture
employee events have become a tradition within RasGas to preserve its corporate culture of open communication, recognition, safety and team spirit.

	Orientation Sessions The Human Resources department offers all new employees orientation sessions to assist in familiarising themselves with RasGas and the customs and culture of the State of Qatar. Individual departments also welcome new staff members and provide them with the necessary guidelines regarding their department as well their new life in Qatar. A typical event consists of a presentation about RasGas and its Human Resources policies, along with general guidelines about Qatar and its people, economy and culture.

	Taqteer Day This is a special annual event celebrating the achievements of RasGas in its Qatarization efforts. Attended by high-level government officials, company managers and industry leaders, along with training mentors, the event also celebrates the achievements of the energy sector in effectively implementing the governments Qatarization initiative.

	Long Service Awards Ceremonies Long Service Award ceremonies are held twice a year to recognise and celebrate the commitment and dedication of employees who have been employed by RasGas for five and 10 years. By 2005, nearly 750 employees received an award for long service. In an event hosted by the Managing Director, long service employees are awarded special certificates to recognise the contribution they have made to RasGas. A special celebration dinner is served after the awards.

	Safety events Safety is a number-one priority at RasGas. Various departments hold regular safety meetings to educate employees on safe behaviour and working practices in the work place. Meetings about home safety are also held, along with safe driving lessons. Attendance is an absolute priority for all employees.
